I liked the premise of this book a lot. And I started out finding it quite intriguing. And then 200 pages of reminders of why I have avoided DeLillio since I tried to read White Noise in 1991. So not my cup of tea and so close to becoming a DNF. But I did F and am so glad it’s over.

I had had two books I decided not to finish in the same week and didn’t want to wimp out. And since the DeLillo, I’ve had another one that I have decided not to finish.

[J] F’d because it is tagged a NYT Bestseller? It’s difficult to completely dismiss such things! Well, sugar and salt are best sellers, and they too have their limitations!

I think for people who like DeLillo’s style, it is probably a pretty amazing book.

Never fancied this, and the reviews haven’t changed my mind! That’s the usefulness of book blogs, saving one from oneself!

I think I gave up on this one around page 50. So boring. And I liked White Noise!

It had a very cold, sterile quality to it and I had trouble with the flashbacks. I rushed through it to be done with it. I guess I kept hoping it would get better.

I can understand completely. Too cool for its own good – I didn’t like it but did find it fascinating which was why I persevered I think.
