Remember those magnetic sheet things that came with a red stylus? You drew on them and then lifted the page to erase them. I had one with Nancy and Sluggo at the top for car trips. I would constantly rework her hair in my drawings – LOVE the afro pic! :)
Just catching up on your posts today. Nancy!!! I had forgotten all about her and Sluggo. I must have read every Nancy comic known to man that I could get my hands on as a child. What a funny memory. Love the Afro. She was great. Thanks for the memory! Pam
Thanks for the Nancy and Sluggo piece – I'd begun to think I'd imagined them! I sometimes find myself wanting to describe a particular hairdo to someone but no one knows what I mean when I say it's like Nancy's.
Loved Nancy and Sluggo!

Holy mackerel I love Joe Brainard. I Remember (his memoir-poem reprinted in full by Granary Books) is a perennial favorite.

Denise: I think I may have been ambivalent about them. I keep getting them mixed up in my brain with Bazooka Joe.
Susan: The iPad of our day.
Pam: I wonder what Nancy would look like in her old age.
Sarah: Not being a poetry person, I don't know anything about his work. I will have to look out for it.
