Book-a-palooza: Penguin’s Great Loves

I have gotten way behind in writing about recent book adventures, so all this week I will be posting about some of fun things I have picked up in the last couple of weeks.

God knows I love a Penguin series. Here is their Great Loves series. I am still in need of one more volume to complete the 20-volume set.

I think the covers are quite lovely.

As previously mentioned in your other Penguin post (which I read first) I own this set and agree that it is beautiful. I am at loss though which volume is missing though as I count 20 and you have all the ones I do (mine come in a box)?

Claire: You are right, I actually have all 20. I had to blow the picture up really big and count. I guess I found the one that was missing and in the melee didn't it didn't even register.

I currently have Thomas Hardy's A Mere Interlude and Katherine Mansfield's Something Childish But Very Natural and am willing to read both this month. You're right. The covers are lovely and my goal is to complete the Great Loves collection by 2011. Am really excited to complete the whole set! :)

I have all those! I brought the whole set in a special box ages ago and do you think I read any of them? Er no even though they are small.

I did the same as Claire, and pleased to see I wasn't miscounting! I bought these in a boxed set post-Lent one year (after not having bought any books during Lent) – so far, have only read the Nabakov.
