DECEMBER 31, 2009: As I mentioned previously, many, many frequent flyer miles allowed us to make the 20-hour trip to Bangkok in style and comfort. Here I am reading The Arena (see review below). What you won’t see is a picture of me sleeping with the seat fully reclined into a 6’6″ bed. Bliss.

The reason we gasped about Cathay Pacific First Class is that you actually get your own “cabin”, the beds are made up with a matress, and you have your own “closet”, in which to hang your clothes whilst you're wearing Shanghai Tang PJs. The downside is that you can't actually see your travelling companion, but they made up the table for two, so we could eat dinner together.
