After a blissful year of only working three days a week, I am back to working five days a week. The nice thing is I like what my new job has me working on. And I like the fact that I am actually being kept busy. The bad thing is I have less time for me. Only time will tell what the impact will be on my reading and blogging.
In the meantime, enjoy one of the Christmas cards we sent out this year.
Lovely! I've sent that card before (I work for the Bodleian).
Very Happy Christmas Thomas!

What a lovely holiday card. I'm drooling (at a quick glance, I thought that was a picture of your bookshelves :)

I remember having a few children's books bound like that at my parent's house growing up. The illustrations inside were also lovely.
That reminds me that I should start my holiday cards.

I received this card from the lovely Verity! Isn't it beautiful!?

Verity: Don't turn me in to your legal department…it's good advertising right? Best wishes to you as well.
Diane: I wish.
Aarti: Me too.
Paperback Reader: I have some Penguin Books wrapping paper but I don't want to use it.
Jeane: Not many people got this one this year, I had a few left over from last year.
Art: I don't know why it took me this long to try it, but this year you know what made the card thing really easy? Address labels! Printed them out in about 5 minutes as opposed to put my scratch on 40 envelopes.
Rachel: Do you know each other in real life? Do you live in proximity to the Bodleian?

A lovely card. I visited the Bodleian this summer and saw the book binding exhibit. It was amazing, but my particular favourite was a book made by Queen Elizabeth I for her step mother. It all took my breath away.
Happy Holidays everyone.

Thomas – Well, we email! We were supposed to meet in Oxford this week but it didn't work out…long story…but we will be meeting in January! I live in London so not in close proximity, no…about an hour away on the train!

That is a great card! I'd love a bookmark of that.

At first I thought that really was your bookshelf and was incredibly jealous! Beautiful card. Hope you are adjusting to the 5 day work week…

LitStew & JoAnn: There should be more cards like this.
Beth: I so wanted to go to that book binding exhibit. Lucky you.
Inkslinger: I did reserve the few I had left this year for the more literary-minded on my card list.
Bookheaper: Wallpaper for your computer or your wall? Either would be cool.
Rachel: That should be fun. There are some boo bloggers here in DC that I hope to meet at some point.
Jodie: I know they are so pretty, part of me is upset they have call numbers on their spines.
Ti: Thankfully I am happy being busy at work, but it does take time adjusting to all the errandy things I used to get done during a weekday.
BooksSlicedandDiced: I know, the card scanned quite nicely, so I can pretend they are on my selves.
