Staying in a Cave
There are many cave dwellings (or troglodyte dwellings as they call them) in the Loire. Some of the rooms at Le Chateau de Nazelle were troglodyte rooms. Our troggy was connected to Ron and Barry’s and they were kind of set apart from the other guest rooms. It was like we had our own little estate with our own little front yard.
Our "Hotel" in The Loire
I won’t bore you with pictures of all the places we stayed on our trip. But the lovely little place we stayed at in the Loire Valley was really amazing. Le Chateau de Nazelle is a few kilometers outside of Amboise and was the perfect spot for exploring the area. It was beautiful, quiet, and unique. The owners were friendly and young, and the pool was perfect for the end of a hot day of sightseeing.

Breakfast Radishes
This lovely bunch of radishes was at the Sunday market in Amboise. I have seen these at markets and grocery stores in the USA sometimes labeled breakfast radishes. Seems like an unlikely thing for breakfast. But if you slice them thin, saute in butter, season with a little salt and pepper, they are a really good side with scrambled eggs. I tried it once in olive oil but they aren’t half as good that way.
