Getting back in the swing of it

Between Pym week, an unexpected trip to the Netherlands, expected house guests, and fantastically fun trip to Jackson Hole, I haven’t had much time or inspiration for blogging.

I have some bookish blog ideas swirling around. But first, the vacation photos.

John’s older brother and his family live in Jackson, Wyoming. I think there should be a rule that all relatives live in beautiful places. At 6,000 or so feet Jackson gives me a bit of altitude problems but that didn’t keep us from driving up 1,500 more feet and then climbing another 1,000. Let’s just say we were wheezing a bit.

A very refreshing dip at the top of our hike (and only halfway to the car).

Amazing! I figured your long absence meant some sort of vacation, and I've been looking forward to the pictures. :) Those mountains are gorgeous – long been wanting to go northwest, but not ready for the long drive. Thank you, btw – the Pym tea towel arrived safely a while back and was greeted with many squeals from my dds. (Those two pics above you swimming look like movie backdrops. I can't even imagine how “brisk” that water must have been!)

I was beginning to worry that you'd left us! Good to have you back. And with all the gorgeous photos.

Back in the 1980s & early 1990s, my husband and I went to the Turner's ranch, Triangle X, in Moose, WY, every year. We had the best times there. Nothing beats the scenery and the wildlife.

I'm a bit behind on my blog reading (and writing) and hadn't realized you went to Jackson Hole! I've spent a lot of time there in the past as my uncle and aunt retired there in the early 90s/late 80s. My estranged cousin now has their 'ranch' and I wish we were closer as it's probably the most magnificent setting in the USA. Looks like you had a great trip! House renos start soon, no?

You are so right, relatives should all live in beautiful places and have plenty of room for guests! :)

    Such beautiful scenery!

Susan: The length of my absence does not match the length of my vacation. I wish. After the hike the water felt so good.

Cath: This is one of those times where I fee our pictures don't do the setting justice.

    Leticia: Glad you like them.

Diane: It sure isn't the cheapest place in the summer.

Joan: It really is amazing isn't it.

Stefan: You need to unestrange yourself and get invited back.

Iliana: I will need to convince part of my family to get out of Phoenix for somewhere more scenic.

Vicki: It was nice to get back closer to sea level.

Lu: My must-visit list never gets any shorter.
