Showered in books (or Building vomits books)

I have been having a great time running around the Netherlands. I am staying with friends in The Hague where there was this very cool temporary scuplture. Thank goodness the books weren’t in English and I don’t read Dutch or I would have been tempted to climb the sculpture to find something good to read.

Looks a bit like the back room of our Oxfam book shop on a particularly bad day when the donations have taken over!

You are growing quite the beard there. Is that the “movember” beard growing to show support for the charity or to celebrate the movie version of Anna Karenina? Looks like a waste of books but hopefully they're outdated textbooks or something similar -very cool looking.

Excellent. A little disturbing, but excellent.

Wow, what an image. Those are real books? it looks like you are turning pages. How do they keep from getting damaged in the rain?

On the one hand this seems a horrible waste of books but on the other hand it is visually interesting and I am drawn to it. Hope you enjoy your trip!

Pam: it really is something isn't it?

Christine: I would love to be in that back room. Not only do i love books, but I love to sort and organize as well.

    Stu: Glad you like it.

Stefan: They didn't look like books that folks might want to keep on their shelves.

Margaret: I kind of wanted to climb it.

Nadia: It was cool to see up close.

CB: I agree. But the fact that it was all in Dutch made it less disturbing than if it had been in English.

Jeane: They are totally open to the elements. Some I think were getting a little moldy.

Kathleen: They looked like the kind of books that were on their way to being pulped.
